Click here to view a map with directions to the Jefferson City Radio Control Flying Field, otherwise known as the Joseph C. Miller Memorial Field. The runway is now 575' X 50' asphalt surface with 50' overruns and a large buffer zone. The asphalt was paved in October 2001. The site is mutually maintained by the members of JCRC and the hard-working employees of the Jefferson City Department of Parks & Recreation who provide trash pickup, grass cutting, maintenance materials and resources for improvements. The field changes from time-to-time as improvements are made to the park. The Pavilion has been closed in. The runway was extended from a small 150' long green-coated tennis-court looking patch to a huge 575' long gem of a runway. New taxiways have been added to the south end as our flight-line has also moved south to help avoid the influx of new homes being constructed on nearby land. The old outhouse was replaced by a nice port-a-pot for necessities. The field can be a challenge while flying due to restricted areas where we are no longer allowed to fly. There are trees and barns to watch out for as you approach the runway and despite our beautiful runway, due to the restrictions, our field is best suited to airplanes with a 1.20 cu. in. displacement or smaller. Please review the maps and photos below to understand where flying is permitted.
