We
held our 9th Annual JCRC Charity Float Fly on May 12th, 2007. We're
already looking forward to our 2008 event!
The
area used by the Jefferson City Radio Control Club for Float Flying consists of
approximately 155 acres of water that make up the beautiful Binder Lake
Park on the west side of Jefferson City. It is a public lake
enjoyed by many citizens in the Mid-Missouri area. The shoreline
is kept in excellent condition. The lake is maintained by
Jefferson City Parks and Recreations, as well as the
Missouri Department of Conservation. JCRC held its first Float Fly
event here in 1999. This lake is an excellent place for a Float
Fly and has very few obstructions. The site is very near to the JCRC
Miller Flying Field, so on days when members want to float fly, a
frequency sharing system is setup, however,
during the annual Float Fly event, there will be NO flying allowed at the
Miller Flying Field.
