The photo on the left shows the balsa & plywood housing that Shaun Zimmerman created to hold his Canon PowerShot S300 Digital Elph camera. Originally Zimmerman had purchased the S100 Digital Elph and made the housing for that camera. However the S300 has the added ability to shoot video clips up to 30 seconds long as well as still photos, but it also has a slightly larger case than the S100, so the housing had to be modified. The framework and stand-offs on the housing help to keep the camera locked in place when inserted into the fuselage. Note that the micro servo is set up so that the arm pushes down on the shutter release button when the Channel 5 switch on the transmitter is pushed. Click on the photo to view a larger version.
