Zimmerman made a valiant attempt to go out and get some aerial photos and videos of the beautiful snow that fell on Christmas Eve 2002. Here's a photo of the JCRC Flying field on Christmas day just to prove how beautiful it was out there that day. Unfortunately his radio did not pass the range check test, so he was unable to fly. The only photos he was able to take were from on top of the picnic table where the plane was setting. The radio issues were solved two days later, but most of the snow had already melted. Since the Christmas photo session didn't work out, Zimmerman waited until the next snow which fell on the evening of January 1, 2003. He attempted to get some video as well, but the camera was acting up, probably because of the cold weather.

The winter photos above were taken around the JCRC Flying Field on January 2, 2003 after about six inches of snow fell on Mid-Missouri. The first photo shows Zimmerman's children clearing the snow off the tables, the last photo shows the icing build up after each of the three flights made that day.

Be sure to check back later to see examples of live, wireless video taken from Chris Byrd's helicopter.
