It's a good thing Jim was wearing that cowboy hat as he
successfully wrangled in his 4 Star 60 that was badly
out-of-trim. Great job, Jim!

Jim Crago's 4 Star 60 passing overhead. It was
also a night of firsts for Harley & his Dad, Phillip
Wilkinson, who had
spent the last 3 months building on their Sig Kadet
Senorita! It turned out great!
The Senorita Kadet lines up on the runway for its very first
flight. What a beautiful airplane!
While watching the Kadet fly rather erratically,
I looked over to see that Dave McD was on the sticks and
I guess he was checking to see whether they had used
enough glue on the wing. It held together.
The Kadet coming in for its first landing and Dave McD
sharing more knowledge and advice with the Gillmore's prior
to the planes 2nd flight - now sans the exhaust deflector
and the first flight with Tom at the controls.
Tom gets the Katana lined up for take-off. He asks that Dave
stand-by just in case, because he feels somewhat nervous
about this first flight. Of course, Dave was right there,
but we all knew that Tom would be fine. In fact Tom shocked
all of us with an intentional roll immediately after
take-off. Way to go Tom!! After that we walked away - he was
fine and did great!

Tom Gillmore flying his Katana 3D
Tom settles the Katana in for a perfect landing as Dave McD
takes to the air with one of his profile planes. Well that's
if you count dragging the tail of the airplane in the grass
from left to right across the entire flight line as being in
the air!
Dave is doing things that would make one wonder if he really
is breaking Rule # 9, because no SOBER person could think up
all of these maneuvers!
Now he drags the tail all the way across the flight line
from right to left, then parks it a foot off the ground.
Top, bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom - I was
getting motion sickness just watching!
If you're going to hover, by all
means, do it within a foot of yourself, that way you can
see the corrections you need to make more clearly!

Daniel Smith launches his very capable electric Ultimate.
When it's time to land he just plops it down in the tall
grass next to the pit area.
Joe Kirkpatrick takes his Thunder Tiger Trainer up for another
flight.
Stacy Gillmore unselfishly takes on the responsibility of
teaching Joe Kirkpatrick how to fly his R/C plane while Tom Gillmore, in the background,
puts his Katana 3D through its paces. Great job guys!
The finale came as Dave McDonald got his Goldberg Ultimate
biplane ready for some air time.
He is so smooth it looks like a walk in the park.
Dave McD executes a very low, extremely slow, inverted pass
right down on the deck. They must be made of steel! Nice job
Dave! Thanks again to all the guys of LORCS who allowed us
to invade your field for an afternoon! Hope to do it again
soon! I'll bring an airplane next time.
