Tom Denham of St. Louis was the first to take to the indoor air with his Todd's Models "Gym-E"

Brad Dudenhoffer prepared and flew his Sig Demoiselle for the very first time at our event. It is amazing to see how the entire tail section pivots on one point. Here he is taxiing around prior to the first flight.

Brad Dudenhoffer's Sig Demoiselle on its very first take-off roll. You'll also see Julie Sander, daughter of Jim Sander of Jefferson City, as she rolls by on her skates.

Here is some video footage taken by Guy Smith of Marvin McKelvy scoring second place with a time of 10.64 seconds in the "Fast" Pylon race with his Sig Curtis Jenny.

Chris Wilson of Jefferson City brought his "rudder-only" Nikko Cessna. He was having a little trouble getting it airborne and nearly hit Jefferson City News Tribune Photographer, Stephen Brooks, who was trying to take his photograph - Oops! Stephen commented that he had seen basketballs that could fly better!

13 year old Guy Smith, of Eldon, and his Dad, Daniel, have submitted video clips of the event. Including a couple of the "show-stopper" videos. The one listed above is video of Daniel flying his GWS Slow Stick in the "Slow" Pylon race where we tried to fly the slowest lap around the circuit without touching the ground. This also shows the plane as it enters the mysterious "Bermuda Corner" and the Slow Stick attacking the Mylar balloon.

Now if you enjoyed that video, you need to check out this one of Daniel flying his winning lap in the "Fast" Pylon race. He completed the circuit in 9.96 seconds, but the fun started after he won when he attempted to do a "victory loop" and once again attacked the Mylar balloon!

In the next week or so we hope to add video footage taken by John Dussold of Jefferson City who was filming the action with his digital camcorder.

Craig Dunwoody of Columbia brought a GWS Tiger Moth with a Lithium Poly battery pack and flew for most of the afternoon. It is a good looking airplane and it flies so nicely

This is footage taken by Chris Byrd of the very first flight of Shaun Zimmerman's (Todd's Models) Tiny-X. The model flew perfectly as long as it was kept away from the "Bermuda Corner" of the building. Even with a stock engine it has a very wide speed range from floating slow to very fast.

More footage taken by Chris Byrd of Shaun Zimmerman's Tiny-X as it is brought in for a landing.

Here is some footage taken by Guy Smith of Shaun Zimmerman's GWS Slow Stick as Shaun was competing in the "Slow" Pylon race, but his speed controller failed just before he was about to start - not very exciting!
